You are invited to the FESTIVAL BRIKCIUS
- the 4th chamber music concert series at the Stone Bell House & #BACH330 (Autumn 2015),
held annually under the auspices of the Mayor of Prague 1, Oldřich
Lomecký and organized in partnership with the City Gallery Prague, in
the exclusive location of the Stone Bell House in Prague's Old Town
square.
The 4th annual festival will feature Czech cellist František Brikcius, composer and organist Irena Kosíková who lives in France, Czech cellist Anna Brikciusová and siblings cello chamber ensemble Duo Brikcius. The festival commemorates the 330th anniversary of the birth of Johann Sebastian Bach and presents music by Italian composers. For further information, visit http://Festival.Brikcius.com .
The Festival Brikcius concerts take place on Thursdays 5th
November, 12th November, 19th November 2015 at 7.30pm at the Stone Bell
House in Prague.
- The opening concert for cello and harpsichord J. S. BACH: CELLO SONATAS will take place on Thursday 5th November 2015 at 7.30pm. Organist Irena Kosíková who lives in France and Czech cellist František Brikcius will play set of three Sonatas for cello and harpsichord (BWV 1027 - 1029) by German baroque composer Johann Sebastian Bach (1685 - 1750), whose 330th anniversary we remind this year.
- Concert J. S. BACH: CELLO SUITES will take place on Thursday 12th November 2015 at 7.30pm. Czech cellist Anna Brikciusová and cellist František Brikcius will play, as part of the Bach's year, six legendary Suites for solo cello (BWV 1007 - 1012) by Johann Sebastian Bach (1685 - 1750).
- The final concert DUO BRIKCIUS - BAROQUE IN BLOOD will take place on Thursday 19th November 2015 at 7.30pm. The two cellists, brother and sister Anna Brikciusová and František Brikcius
(Duo Brikcius), will introduce a new programme for two cellos with
virtuosic compositions by baroque masters. Six fugues by Italian
composer Luigi Boccherini (1743 - 1805), Concert for two cellos by French composer François Couperin (1668 - 1733), Double Concerto by Flemish (Belgian) composer Joseph-Hector Fiocco (1703 - 1741) and French cellist Paul Bazelaire (1886 - 1958) and by Italian composer Antonio Vivaldi
(1678 - 1741) Concerto for two cellos. As a special encore Duo Brikcius
will play Canon, one of the last work by Italian composer Domenico Gabrielli (1651 - 1690).

400 CZK (advance ticket sales 380 CZK) / senior discount, student

BACH: THE ART OF FUGUE for the Charta 77 Foundation | Konto Bariéry (Sunday 1st November), film screening MAKANNA (Monday 2nd November), poetry reading KOLIBŘÍ ÚSMĚV (Monday 16th November) and special pre-Christmas concert ITALIAN BAROQUE MUSIC AND PRESENT (Thursday 26th November).
Benefit organ concert J. S. BACH: THE ART OF FUGUE
will take place on Sunday 1st November 2015 at 6pm, at the Church of St.
Salvátor (Salvátorská 1, Praha 1), near Pařížská street. Organist and
composer Irena Kosíková (France) will play famous composition the Art of Fugue (Die Kunst der Fuge, BWV 1080), last work by Johann Sebastian Bach.
Free entry; voluntary donations collected at the event will go to
charitable purposes of the Charta 77 Foundation | Konto Bariéry, the
co-organiser of this benefit event.
Festival Brikcius is a media partner of film music document MAKANNA from the concert performance of a ballet written by composer Irena Kosíková for voice (Jan Židlický), solo cello (František Brikcius) and orchestra (Jan Talich - conductor, Talich Chamber Orchestra), held at the Convent of St Agnes of Bohemia under the auspices of Sir Tom Stoppard and Václav Havel. The film celebrates the 115th anniversary of the birth of the Czech writer Jiří Weil (1900 - 1959). Film premiere and the CD inauguration of the film soundtrack is held on
Monday 2nd November 2015 at 7pm, at the Vaclav Havel Library (Ostrovní
13, Praha 1), as part of the Poetry Day Festival 2015. Free entry. In
the cooperation with the Vaclav Havel Library.
Another festival's event is the poetry reading POETRY DAY - KOLIBŘÍ ÚSMĚV from Anna Brikciusová's
new poetry collection, with accompanying cello music by the author,
scheduled for Monday 16th November 2015 at 4.30pm, at the Petřín Observation Tower (Petřínské sady, Praha 1), as part of the 17th Festival Poetry Day and the 205th anniversary of the birth of poet Karel Hynek Mácha
(1810 - 1836). The main purpose of the annual Poetry Day Festival, held
on the anniversary of Mácha's birth (*16th November 1810), is to raise
awareness of poetry. The event will also premiere a new composition
Vertigo (2015) for solo cello by organist and composer Irena Kosíková.
Free entry. In the cooperation with the City of Prague Museum.
Another accompanying activity will be concert ITALIAN BAROQUE MUSIC AND PRESENT
scheduled for Thursday 26th November 2015 at 7pm, at the Baroque Chapel
of the Istituto Italiano di Cultura di Praga (Vlašská 34, Praha 1). On
programme is music by Italian composers Domenico Gabrielli (1651 - 1690), Antonio Vivaldi (1678 - 1741) and Luigi Boccherini (1743 - 1805). Free entry. In the cooperation with the Istituto Italiano di Cultura di Praga.
